Event Details
How can we best support our children’s development from childhood to adolescence while remaining attuned, present, grounded, courageous, and loving? Cultivating compassion, equanimity, and resilience will allow us to explore the edge states that often push us beyond our comfort zones. To better support our children and continue to nurture our own development as relational beings as we walk them into their futures: this is the Parent’s Journey.
Parent’s Journey is a 6-week experiential psycho-education group, with dedicated space for discussion of readings, interactive group narrative, and experiential practice (mindfulness and somatic exercises). The psycho-educational component consists of very readable best-selling books which explore the brain science of relationships and the impact of familial attachment on social and emotional intelligence. Reading prior to group meetings will facilitate an engaged and meaningful group experience. Time will be allocated for discussion of readings, group narrative interaction, practice of relational attunement and repair following minor and major relational challenges and disturbances, as well as experiential somatic/mindful relationship practices.
